JAC Annual Report and Accounts 2013/14

The Annual Report sets out the JAC’s performance over 2013/14, during which the JAC received a record number of applications and made more recommendations than in any previous year against a background of continued reductions in both staff and funding.

Alongside this, the JAC is mid-way through its internal change programme and is making good progress. They now have policies in place for implementation of key changes introduced by the Crime and Courts Act 2013 and associated Regulations, including application of an Equal Merit Policy and the selection of deputy High Court judges.

Throughout the year the JAC has continued to make independent selections on merit for judicial office from the widest range of eligible candidates and this will continue to be our primary purpose.
