BSN is excited to announce the launch of its Junior Lawyers Division (“JLD”).

The JLD has been established to focus on the needs of, and issues affecting, black junior lawyers (including solicitors, barristers and attorneys) from trainees to lawyers with up to 7 years post qualification experience whether in private practice, chambers or in-house (including the private and public sectors) (“Junior Lawyers”).

The primary objectives of the JLD include:

1.  Connecting Junior lawyers across the legal sector to facilitate relationship building.

2.  Providing a forum for support, inspiration and guidance for Junior Lawyers.

The launch event for BSN’s Junior Lawyers Division took place on Thursday 19 April 2018 at the offices of Linklaters LLP. The event involved an exciting and insightful panel discussion with JLD committee members, Natalie Carter, Jaya Handa, Ofei Kwafo-Akoto and Cherie Samuels, moderated by BSN Chair, Paulette Mastin. The JLD committee shared their personal experiences and outlined their vision for the JLD. The plenary was highly interactive with guests engaging in an open discussion on issues facing Junior Lawyers and how the JLD can best serve its members as they explore these issues and best practice for personal growth and career development going forward.
