BSN/Linklaters Black History Month event: In conversation with Afua Hirsch

October 12, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Linklaters and the Black Solicitors Network are delighted to invite you to a special event commemorating UK Black History Month. This is an opportunity for us to celebrate the history and achievements of the Black community, and reflect on the past with the hope of shaping a better future.

We are delighted to be joined by award-winning author, barrister and news correspondent, Afua Hirsch on Tuesday 12 October. In this conversation, Afua will explore the themes of identity, belonging and what it means to be authentic. Afua’s recent work includes African Renaissance, a major BBC series on African art; Enslaved, a 6-part series about the history of the transatlantic slave trade which she co-presented with Samuel L Jackson, and the Audible podcast series We Need to Talk About the British Empire. She regularly writes, reports and speaks on international current affairs, and has published two bestselling books: Brit(ish): On Race, Identity and Belonging and Equal to Everything, about the UK Supreme Court. Afua is also the founder of Born in Me Productions, which creates scripted and non-scripted programmes for TV and podcast.

We hope you will join us for what promises to be a thought provoking and engaging conversation.
