BSN North – Black History Month 2018 Event
October 24 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pmFree
Following on from last year’s celebration of Black History month, The Law Society and Black Solicitors Network (North) are pleased to bring this exciting event to your attention.
For this event, we will be considering how law firms can inspire, support, and encourage the region’s talented group of minority lawyers to flourish in their careers.
We have secured a stellar line-up of speakers who can share their experiences of their respective careers to date.
District Judge Obodai
Simon Davis, Deputy President of The Law Society and Partner at Clifford Chance
Olivia Balson, Global Centre Director at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP
Harold Brako, Partner at Addleshaw Goddard
Angeli Vadera, Chair of Hindu Lawyers Association and Solicitor at Keoghs
Kyle Blackburn, Director at The Black Solicitors Network, Trainee Solicitor at JMW Solicitors
The panellists will provide you with an opportunity to hear from lawyers who have strived in their careers to further the diversity agenda.
As one of the key pillars of society, the law underpins many aspects of daily life. Diversity in the legal profession is therefore vital to ensuring the voices of all the communities we serve are reflected by the people working within the legal sector.
- Understand more about the positive contribution made by ethnic minority lawyers to the profession, and how diversity enhances organisations in the wider legal community
- Learn the different routes to success based on the personal journeys of accomplished solicitors with similar experiences to you
- Develop the skills to support and encourage self-confidence to make effective applications to access the profession
