Diversity League Table
The Diversity League Table is an analysis of equality and diversity across four diversity strands of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation and disabilities.
The UK’s leading firms and Chambers are invited to take part on a voluntary basis.
Participants are invited to answer a series of questions, via an online questionnaire, which primarily seek to establish their demographic make-up.
These results are presented as a series of individual profiles for each participant and then also as a series of leagues tables; ranking participants across the four diversity strands, as those strands relate to representation amongst junior and then more senior levels of practitioner.
Participants are also asked additional questions which enable us to get a better understanding of trends in the legal profession, specifically in the areas of recruitment, retention and promotion of people from diverse backgrounds.
For 2010 a new and very important set of questions were introduced, and these questions allow for more of a "balanced scorecard" approach to the overall reporting. Via the online questionnaire participants are now invited to provide information on their E&D policies, procedures and initiatives. The new questions will help ensure that current activity and initiatives are acknowledged, alongside actual achievements in terms of numbers and percentages.
