In January 2012, the Law Society will launch a new dedicated service to create and facilitate a community of solicitor advocates. This will provide support, training and networking opportunities on a circuit and national level. Solicitor advocates are under increasing pressure as a result of the intensity of competition for work in the higher courts and the introduction of the new Quality Assurance Scheme for Advocates (QASA) on a phased regional basis from April 2012.
While the initial focus will be on supporting criminal advocates facing the imminent prospect of assessment under QASA, we will also be making provision for the needs of civil advocates. At these FREE launch events you will hear about our plans for a range of training and support services and how we plan to set up strong regional networks based on the circuits around the country. Each event will feature a speaker from the judiciary.
If you are unable to attend, please use the form overleaf to express your interest in receiving more information about the Law Society’s dedicated service for solicitor advocates.
